Calendar

Students are expected to attend lessons for a full academic year (September-June). The semester dates are:

• Fall 2024: September 1 - December 22

• Winter 2025: January 14 - June 30

​

Summer lessons may also be offered depending on the instructor's availability.

Lesson Rates

Lesson rates will cover the following:

• Practical piano playing and theory instruction for the designated lesson time

• Lesson preparation work, additional homework assignments/learning material

• Piano transcriptions (upon student's request)

• Continuous support for students throughout the week outside of lesson hours 

• Administrative work and professional fees

• Recital fees

*Note: Pensato Music Inc. reserves the right to raise tuition rates at the beginning of each new academic year.

Communication

Pensato Music Inc. will communicate essential information via email. This includes any special announcements, important updates, and recital information. To ensure students are receiving this information, it is of utmost importance for parents/guardians/students to check their email regularly.

Please keep your email information current and add the studio emails to your contact list to avoid them going to your spam folder. By agreeing, parents/guardians/students consent to receive and read the information sent. 

Lesson Payment

Monthly tuition fees are collected on the first lesson of each month. Invoices are sent one week before the payment due date.

If students are unable to attend a lesson for the month and have provided a reason, the pre-paid lesson fee will be considered a "lesson credit" and applied towards a lesson in the following month. This is limited to one lesson per month.

Cancellation Policy/Make-up Lessons

In the event that students are unable to attend a lesson and wish to reschedule, they must notify the instructor by the morning of the scheduled lesson day. Failure to do so will result in a "no-show" fee, and the lesson payment will not be refunded.

Make-up lessons may be arranged and accommodated to the best of the instructor's ability. The make-up lesson date/time will be based on the instructor's schedule. 

Out of consideration for fellow students and the instructor, please stay at home if you are feeling unwell. Online lessons may be arranged due to sickness or poor weather conditions. 

Lesson Termination

Students are required to provide one month's notice and a brief explanation via email, text, or phone call if they wish to withdraw from lessons.

Lessons may also be terminated by the instructor if a student has an excessive number of unprepared lessons or absences without providing a reason (i.e. missing three out of four weeks of lessons in a month on more than one occasion).

Instructor Absences

In the case the instructor will be unable to teach due to illness, professional commitments or vacation, lessons will be rescheduled with students.

Photo & Video Release

Parents/guardians/students grant permission for images of the student to be captured during regular and special Pensato Music Inc. activities via video, photo, or digital camera to be used for Pensato Music Inc.'s promotional materials, marketing campaigns, updates on website/social media platforms and publications, and within the premises of Pensato Music Inc. Parents/guardians/students wave any rights to compensation or ownership of these images.

If, at any point, parents/guardians/students wish to revoke consent for the use of images of the student, they must notify Pensato Music Inc. in writing.

Parent Participation

Parents are asked to encourage and support students in their music endeavours and actively participate during piano practice at home.
